Hello and a warm welcome to you! I'm James Butler, a seasoned photographer stationed in the charming countryside near Cardiff and Swansea in Wales. My pursuit of photography as a career path began as a fervent hobby in my youth, and for the past decade, this ardour has been turned into my everyday profession. Specialising in portraiture, I've devoted my career to capturing the depth and beauty of human emotions. I believe in crafting a relaxed, comfortable environment to capture genuine moments of joy, contemplation, and the subtle nuances of your personality that make you unique. My approach is to blend into the background and chronicle the moments as they unfold. I strive to merge creativity with candid, natural moments to yield beautiful, timeless photographs that you and your loved ones will treasure forever. What began as a passion and a hobby, has now morphed into my full-time job, and it's the most fulfilling thing in the world for me. making a career as a photographer, is by far, my life's proudest accomplishment. A little about me… I’m a homebody at heart, but I have a great love for the outdoors. On my days off, you can often find me rambling around the welsh countryside with my partner Laura Beth and our little boy Archie, or taking a leisurely drive along the coast to soak up the serenity of the sea. When I'm not engaged in outdoor adventures or capturing portraits, I will almost definitely be watching or playing sport. Depending on the season, you will find me cheering on my favourite football team or relishing a good cricket match. I’m a sports enthusiast, through and through!

In terms of personality, I would describe myself as more of an introvert. You won't often find me on the other side of the camera - I'm more comfortable behind it! But don’t let my introverted personality fool you, I love to connect with people, and my camera is my medium for this connection. I understand how daunting it can be to stand in front of a lens, and I always keep this in mind when working with my subjects. I aim to make the experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
